Doma Dance Theater Audition Notice

Doma Dance Theater seeks 2 - 6 dancers for new works premiering in Spring 2025.

Audition:

July 20, 2024 - 2p, 5p

July 23, 2024 - 2p

Callback: August 17, 2024 - 2p - 5p

All auditions, callbacks, and rehearsals will be held at the Doma Studio - 528 Hennepin Ave UNIT 302, Minneapolis MN 55403.

Virtual auditions accepted, but all candidates must be physically present at the callback.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • Candidates will be auditioned in groups of 10 - 15, with minimal time between audition slots. Please come warm.

  • IF YOU HAVE A STURDY BELT, PLEASE BRING IT.

  • Audition times will be assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis. As the application will remain live until July 23, or until all audition times are full, please hold your preferred audition times until it is confirmed by Doma. We will send a confirmation email no later than 24 hrs before the audition.

  • Candidates have the option to audition for one or both works pending schedules/interest. 

  • Call back candidates may be contacted for in an person/virtual meeting/interview. 

  • Video submissions will be accepted until the start of the final in-person audition slot at 2:00PM CST July 23, 2024.

  • These contracts are through Spring 2025 with the possibility of extension to touring in Fall 2025.

  • Dancers must be able to work in Minneapolis during the contracted periods. 

PROJECT DETAILS:

***PROJECT 1***

  • Performances: APRIL 2025 

  • Average Rehearsals: 6hr /week

  • Potential Intensive Period: November OR December 2024

  • Projected rehearsal total: 100 hours - November 2024-April 2025

  • Projected performance length: 20-30 min

  • Pay: $15-20/hr - $100 Performance Fee 

  • Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency with and availability for: complex walking patterns, weight sharing, and advanced partnering skills.

***PROJECT 2***

  • Performance week MAY 27-JUNE 1, 2025 

  • Average Rehearsals: 6hr /week

  • Potential Intensive Period: January 2025

  • Projected rehearsal time: 100 hours - January 2025-June 2025

  • Pay: $15-20/hr - $100 Performance Fee 

  • Successful candidates will demonstrate experience and/or proficiency in: complex walking patterns, ballet, modern dance, and advanced partnering skills.
